Importing xml files

I've noticed that when importing xml files from another program, like Sibelius, etc. The articulations and dynamics don't play. The dynamics are correct, but doesn't play correctly. I don't know why Musescore doesn't interpret the marks correctly. The work around is creating a fresh score and copying the old score into the new score. Musescore then plays the articulations correctly.

Best regards,
Hadley :)

Instead of direct export (from sibelius or oldest Finale versions), use Dolet plugin.
This add-on is recommended by both Sibelius, old Finale versions(1) and MusicXML.
(1): the Dolet plugin is embedded in the new Finale releases.

Without the Dolet plugin, the files you export are properly transferred only between the corresponding versions of the software that export them..

Another comment. Your examples play dynamics properly. If you put articulations in your files the articulations don't playback, even when you insert them. One has to copy file into a new document and the articulations playback correctly.

I have an update on this xml not playing articulations when importing. If you save your musescore as an xml and import it, the articulations will not play back either. One still has to copy into a new document score for the articulations to play correctly.
Best regards all,
Hadley :)
