This release includes all the new features added in MuseScore 4.2, as well as fixes a number of crashes and improvements to the stability of the app.

Since I got the 4.2.1 update I was eager to have the guitars working, but nothing yet. They all still have a weak steel guitar sound that is always cut short despite the length of the note, the dynamics don't work either nor any of the effects. It's unfortunately entirely non-functional still.

Is it a non-existent or unreported problem except for me since there was no mention of it anywhere else and throughouly ignored in the update?

Sounds like for someone reason your Muse Sampler failed to update when you installed the guitars. Normally that happens automatically but occasionally it fails. Check Diagnostic / Muse Sampler and if it reports a version older than 9.5, that’s the problem. Go back to Muse Hub, open the settings, and force an update manually there. Then restart MuseScore.

Hello!
Is there anyway to go back to the previous version of MuseScore,
I am no longer able to view my teachers pieces with this latest version.
Thanks!

I recently updated my Musescore to 4.2.1 but didn't try it immediately until today. I just opened some of my previous orchestral scores and some of the instruments sound terrible, as if the dynamics and expression were taken away from them! How can I fix this? Do I need to downgrade to the previous version?

There weren't any major changes to the sounds; probably somehow your Muse Sounds installation got disconnected and so you're hearing MS Basic instead. Best to start a new thread in the Support forum and attach the score you are having trouble with and describe the problem in more detail, and someone should be able to help.

I want the microtone to be able to change all the symbols that follow it with a single symbol, just like a normal sharp and sharp sign, without having to add Microtonal tones sign in front of all the notes that need to be changed in pitch

Do you know if there is a backup folder in a Macbook Pro? I cannot open a score that I tried to save to the cloud and I understand that it could be in a folder somewhere and that taking it out of the cloud folder might make it openable again. Do you know what that folder might be called? lWhat is interesting is that I still have a thumbnail of the first page. I would like to hope that it is not just a thumnail. Currently the score has a blue cloud icon on it but when I click on it, It tells me that the file is invalid. Marc why does this program not automatically save files? Would that just use up memory on my device? What is the reasoning behind this? Could this be because I did not have MuseHub open? I read the comments of persons that tried to corner you when you spoke about MuseScore not being a trojan horse. I'm with you. I want to show a little faith in humanity as well. I apologize for bothering you with this question but I am a little disappointed that I have lost a couple hours work As I learn to use the forum, I would like to help in any way I can. There is one more thing that is problematic. When I leave my work open on the computer, sometimes when I come back the sound does not work. This is why I decided to close it and then had to choose between save in the cloud and on my computer. Any Help or direction you can send me in is greatly appreciated!

Brian
