Diddle playback
I'm a really new user(so I may be wrong about the feature) but I don't believe that drum rolls/diddles playback as notated. It'd really be helpful to be able to get playback as diddles instead of having to write a second score using 32nd notes as the diddes(sounds terrible doing this).
Comments
diddles should be able to be notated and play back properly, don't you think?
I guess what your wanting is some kind of macro. Perhaps this is a good idea for a plug in?
Regards.
That's what I mean. When I'm trying to get playback, the tremelo marking as used for most rudimental percussion parts do not play back as a roll/diddle. I simply get the straight 8th/16th/24th etc. This works fine for printing scores, as it appears true;but for making audio files the method of saving a second score, and changing to line of 32nd notes is not only more time consuming, but sounds very poor.

Tremelo is a variation in air pressure (I guess), heard as a volume shift.
The appropriate rolls etc. need at one point to be mapped out in notation and, If you wish realism you will need a sequencer that can alter volumes of each note so the "feel" is correct. Are you sure you mean "tremelo"?
I once programmed an "abanico", a "shot" "roll" for timbales and was able to get a very realistic sound. It took a little work. As I remember, it was a 9- or 11-stroke roll.
Regards.

Xavierjazz: in percussion writing tremolo markings are used for rolls and "diddles".
ChrisS: MuseScore does not currently support playback of tremolos.

Thank you

Hi, we too have hit this problem. Attached is the side snare drum arrangement of 'Life on an Ocean Wave'. Feel free to use this file for development purposes as the ability to have tremolos would help us enormously.
Thanks
Mike

I have to echo the comments about drum rolls and playback. At the very least I need timpani rolls similar to those in Debussy's operatic and orchestral scores. I also need snare and military (field) drum rolls. Since I am writing for an orchestra I do not have access to the musicians right way and generating the .wav file is the only way I can communicate the sound of the piece to anyone. So the ability to play back such sounds would help with the completeness of the sofware, from the standpoint of demonostrating results to others.
I apologize for sounding demanding, since I am so appreciative of this wonderful software, but the problem is that I need this capability within the next week or so.
