Custom chord symbol set
I would like to use a custom chord symbol set in lead sheets.
Do I have to write a plugin for that or is there another way because I have never done something like that before but need that feature very urgently.
Would be great if somebody could help me!

No plugin needed (or feasible) just create yourself a suitable chord description file, take ... styles/jazzchords.xml as a start. Or any of the other xml files in that directory, except chords.xml (it serves a different purpose)

I looked at the file but I don't see possibilities realize the following:
Instead of "C maj" I only want a "C" in capital letters and for "C min" a "c" in small Letters and a font where I can easily see the difference.
When I write a small "c" it is automatically converted into a big letter. How can I change that?
In reference to the main letter (C, D, E,...) I want to place symbols and characters like the "o" for fully diminished and the "ø" for half diminished aligned down right and up to 3 Numbers upon each other aligned up right (like in baroque notation).
And it must be possible to place both at the same time (aligned up right and down right), because my syntax contains allways(!) two kinds of information: 1) chord type (e.g "G7"), 2) bass note to use (e.g. third or fifth)
So I need a possibility to define the alignment for each character.
My notation has prooved itself worthy over several years of classical improvising at key instruments, especially at pipe organs with pedal keys and in accompanying church chants.
Therefore needed is an enhanced variety of symbols containing more than the traditional Jazz nomenclature and the symbols also need to be more compact which means contain less letters and numbers for having the same meaning.

have a look at the cchord*.xml files, they are more sophisticated and commented.
It should be possible to tweak them so that it fists your needs. It won't be too easy though...
Marc Sabatelle is our resident chord symbols guru, he may have more and better ideas on this
In 2.0 Beta 1 you would have the choice of lower case minor chords. It has a far better and more flexible mechanism for rendering chord symbols.

This solves a part of the task because as I understand it you can define chords there, always in reference to "C" which seems practical.
If it were possible to place a tag there like "align" left bottom "/align" etc. then my whole problem would be solved elegantly i think! :-)
Then there remains only one more wish: To differ between "C" and "c" for minor and major.

Lower case minor cases are not pissible in the current version 1.3 but will be possible in 2.0 - you can test for yourself using a Nightly build (see Download link in menu at top of this page). The feature was in the Beta as well but was buggy, should be better now. To use it, simply go to Style / General / Chord Symbols and check the appropriate box. And no need to use custom XML files either - in fact they now become counterproductive. Just use the default chord symbol,style (unless you prefer the handwritten font and special formatting provided by the Jazz style, which you can enable in this same dialog).
Fonts are set, as they in 1.3, in Style / Text. Although if you select the Jazz style in General (or one of the special predefined chord descriptions files in 1.3), the MuseJazz font is used automatically

Also the "section break" works fine, placing two songs below each other with title etc. which is an important feature for me.
One question remains for me at the moment:
I'd like to symbolize the chord C-D-F-G with e.g. "C^4add2" or "C^24" or the 4 lowered and the 2 highered or something a customized symbol for this double-suspended chord, like simply an "C^s" or whatever.
Is this possible?

What you you mean for the the "^" to symbolize? MuseScore uses this internally to represent the "triangle" used by some for major seventh chords. If you want it to lierally render as the carat, I guess youd need to alter the "sym" definition for that in the chord symbol definition XML file you are using. Or maybe you are trying to describe superscript? You could make that happen also by editing the XML file. Look at the definition for "69" chords at the bottom of chords_jazz.xml to see how that is done.

The "^" itself means nothing, only that the following character is superscript/elevated, like the "_" means that the following character is subscript/inferior. Some markup languages or editors use that syntax... ah, yes, you wrote it.
