Hi there,

I wonder how one can change the metronome sound.

Thanks for your help!

Bravo!!! The only answer by a user or moderator to the point - in this entire help forum. This app, even though I am using - is most unfriendly, rigid and irritating. No simple or straightforward ways to do things. The boring part is somebody posting loads of responses but much ado about nothing. Just verbose and boring.
You cannot increase the size of the note-heads. If someone raises a query in this regard, someone comes and starts lecturing and in the end no solution. Many users are verbose too.

Since a metronome merely ticks off beats - not very complex rhythmically - why not use a simple substitute for the metronome sound?

1. Create a single percussion staff for whatever metronome sound you desire at whatever volume (dynamic) level.
2. Enter one measure of notes/beats - e.g. 4 quarter notes for one measure of 4/4 - and propagate throughout the score.
3. Play back using this sound instead of the 'real' metronome.

You can hide the staff for printing the score.

Regards.

Yes, it would be nice to have more control over the metronome. I'm a beginning drummer. I write score, play along, and then use my phone's metronome app to play along. I tried using Muscore's metronome while muting the drumset, but it the accents the first beat each time and I would rather not do that. As a beginning drummer, I find a steady unaccented beat is easier to follow.

I managed to change the sound on Musecore 4 by pressing F10 , then on top of the metronome channel, changing the sound to "Woodblocks". Maybe you can find a more soothing sound in the sound banks.
Hope it helps
