Musescore 2.0 not responding on Start Centre
Hi, I've recently joined Musescore to ask a techinal question
I use a Macbook Air, upgraded to OS X Yosemite with 6.08 GB left of storage and every time I open Musescore 2.0 it will open up to the start centre and freeze with the rainbow wheel just on the desktop of Musescore. Ive tried deleting Musescore and re-downloading it, about 4 times and I have tried a factory reset by a terminal command line.
However when I go on my Desktop iMac and launch the same version of Musescore, it launched fine with no freezing
I'm just asking if anyone knows a fix to this, I'll attach a photograph of the freeze
Thanks,
John-Williams

Can you try a recent nightly build? http://prereleases.musescore.org/macosx/nightly/

Interesting, could you open the terminal and run
/Applications/MuseScore\ 2.app/Contents/MacOS/mscore
What's the output?
Are you using a proxy? a firewall?

The output from terminal after i run the command line:

OK. I don't know mcafee security, but can you check if MuseScore is blacklisted somehow? If it denies internet access to MuseScore?
In reply to OK. I don't know mcafee by [DELETED] 5
Would you know any way of checking this, I've tried going to the McAfree Preferences and Console and there was know option to go to a blacklist
Also I've found out that I do have a firewall on

A simple test is to temporarly disable or even stop these programs and start up MuseScore again. Let us know how that goes.

Sorry I haven't been able to reply, schoolwork caught up with me. I've poked around, trying to find a way to disable McAfee, but I think my schools IT blocked that function , and deleting will probably cause anger (They shout at you for having a closed water bottle 30cm next to you laptop).
However I don't think McAfee is the problem, as during the morning at school, logged onto the school's wifi, Musescore worked, with no freezing or "application not responding".
So maybe this problem might have something to do with my wi-fi, though as a I said, the desktop iMac works and this application has worked once before on my laptop
Thanks,
John-Williams

Just an update, I left my laptop on sleep mode, with Musescore still on (not responding) while I went out for dinner. When I came, about 1 and a half later, the application was working, however the little sheet music on the side of the start centre was not there, replaced with "Cannot connect",
So I guess if i leave Musescore on for a long time, it will fix it?
Anyone know anyway to stop this from happening?
Thanks

Seems to indicate a network or firewall issue

Thanks for further reporting on this issue John. We'll try to reproduce it.
