Adjusting un-metered music

I do a lot of unmetered church music, and the new split/join measure feature is a huge help.
One thing: When I make the time signature invisible, it still takes up space, so the music appears to start well into the bar. I can adjust the notes in the first bar by hand, but it would be cool if MS automatically adjusted the notes as if the time signature weren't there.
