3 bug reports

• May 30, 2015 - 21:09

In this forum topic I would like to include 3 different bugs that were reported in different forum topics each, back when the latest version was 2.0 beta 2, and not only by me but by several users, but they still remain unfixed. Firstly, all the instrument sounds of the "Marching Percussion" section are piano sounds instead of drum sounds. Moreover, when MuseScore runs a big score with many tremolos and ornaments, or many contnuous chords, it often crashes or some weird playback issues occur. Finally, the replace pitches tool works only when typing the note with keyboard and not with the mouse. This is probably a minor bug, compared with the others, because little people use the mouse for entering notes, as far as I know, but I'm one of them and I would be glad if this bug was also fixed. I can't wait for 2.0.2 and I hope that my requests will be fulfilled. Thanks in advance!!

Which soundfont are you using to get the marching percussion sounds, and are you using the Mixer to tell MuseScore which sounds are which? As far as I know, there is no bug - you simply have to to do the necessary set up. But I'm not an expert on using non-standard soundfonts. See https://musescore.org/en/node/21722 for further discussion.

If you have a specific issue with a specific score, please post that score and precise step by step instructions to reproduce the problem.

The issue with replace pitches only working with keyboard and not by default with mouse is known - see #53081: Respell pitches mode adds note to chord when input is by mouse.

I use the standard soundfont, and I'm neither an expert with non-standard soundfonts, but I'll try that soundfont in the link and I'll let you know my results.

I face the problem with all of my scores with many tremolos and ornaments, or many conitnuous chords. But not allways. They work fine sometimes, but they don't some other times. What I have also noticed, is that this malfunction occurs, if I run a score of that kind immediatly when I open my computer. So it may also be the CPU's problem.

I read the first comment in the discussion about the replace pitches and I think that's a great solution. Thanks!!

You need to have both the standard and percussion soundfonts installed.

If you are still having problems, please psot the specific score you are having problems with and precise step by step instructions to reproduce the problem. That's standard advice *any* time you are are having problems. It is very difficult to help otherwise.
