Dynamics
Pardon me for putting in a request when I'm such a newbie to this great program.
When I double-click on a dynamic to place it in the score, it lands just a little past the note and I have to physically move it back. Could this be corrected please?

Open the palette, then drag the symbol to the note. Release the mouse then
drag the symbol to the exact place you want.
No need to double-click.

?? Dragging is much slower than double clicking, so it would be nice if you could control the placement of dynamics via double click. It *should* be controlled by the Text Style for dynamics. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work in 1.0. Text handling is much improved in 2.0 from what I can tell.

I didn't realise that double clicking on the dynamic palette will place a symbol under the selected note.
I learn something new ever day!

Yep, double-clicking an element in the palette works for almost everything. Only voltas (endings) and a couple of other things require use of drag and drop.
