Compilation (Development)

I hope that this is the correct section of the forum in which to post this question:

After typing make -f Makefile.osx xcode yesterday, I was shown an error message which stated that the xcodeproj file did not exist. This is new, as I was previously able to compile/run the program from source with no problem a couple of months ago. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?
