OS X 10.11.3 breaks Core Audio for MuseScore 2.0.2

• Feb 11, 2016 - 09:54

Hi all,

After upgrading from OS X 10.11.2 to 10.11.3, my previously working installation of MuseScore 2.0.2 has lost the ability to talk to the Core Audio API. Playback is disabled, and the Preferences I/O pane shows no options for API (see image). As far as I can tell the only thing that has changed is that I installed the 10.11.3 update.

I've tried all the usual suspects; restarting coreaudiod, rebooting, reinstalling MuseScore etc, to no avail. Would very much appreciate any ideas for further troubleshooting!

MuseScore 2.0.2
OS X El Capitan 10.11.3
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

1. The "Synthesizer" option is completely disabled.
2. Installing a new SoundFont didn't work, but;
2. Performing a factory reset from the command line did work.

Thanks for the help! I've honestly no idea how my intensive Googling didn't bring up that page in the first place.
