Edit/Preferences... >Folders click and browse

You can try copying and pasting from one folder to another?
Style/General...>Chords Symbol,... put the check on Custom and click on the icon:

What do you want to do?

Or do you wish to modify the actual chord .xml file itself?

You shouldn't normally need to specific a custom chord file - these only for expert users who know how to create them. Normally just the radio buttons for Standard and Jazz should be sufficient.
