Request for Lithuanian translation
Hello,
I'm here for the first time and would like to start MuseScore UI translation to Lithuanian.
I didn't have much time for this task but maybe more translators will join in the future.
Thanks for the 1.0 version which seems to me pretty stable.

Hi Antanas,
It's always tremendous fun to enable a new language for MuseScore. So let's get you started with the Lithuanian translation.
I just enabled the Lithuanian language on http://musescore.org/lt and in the translation server at http://translate.musescore.org. So how to get started.
The easiest way to get familiar with the musescore.org translation flow is to start with translating the teaser page:
You can now see your work at http://musescore.org/lt
Now, you're ready to translate the other pages, both menu and handbook pages. Just go to http://musescore.org/en, click on the page you wish to translate and hit the translate tab, etc.
For translating the software, you can head over to http://translate.musescore.org/ and translate the strings. Every 24 hours, the mscore-lt.qm file will be compiled and made available for download. You can test the translation by replacing the mscore-lt.qm file in your MuseScore folder under /locale.
If you have more question, don't hesitate to ask.

Thomas,
thanks for the answer and instructions.
As I can see the translation system is simple and friendly.
I suppose the subtitle in the sites' header "Free music composition & notation software" couldn't be translated the same way as other texts. Now musescore.org/lt header shows it in some slavian language.
If You or someone else can add it to the sites header, there is translation of the subtitle to Lithuanian: "Laisvoji muzikos kūrimo ir natų rašto programa".

Yes, indeed, the slogan is not translatable by translators. It's now in place. Thanks!
You may have noticed a block 'Translate' with some links to translate the software, website content and website strings. Via these links, you can translate anything. Let me know if you have problems.

Hi, Thomas and others,
please find attached UI translation file for Lithuanian, not fully translated (mostly by my friend Rytis) and not tested. We tend to continue translating online.
Thanks!

Hi antanasb,
Thanks for your contribution.
I imported the file so you are all set to complete the translation online.

Hi Thomas,
Is it possible to download a source file of Lithuanian translation of musescore from online (not compiled - in .ts, not .qm format)?
I would like to merge it with a file I translated locally. Some strings are conflicting, so I would like to perform the merger manually.

When you're ready, attach the file here. I'll check it in then.

Hey, Thomas,
I could not found in translation file these strings: "Save Online", "What's this", "Plugins" (and whole plugins menu)..
In some cases Lithuanian users see answers just in English (Yes No Cancel)
How is it possible to fix it?
Rytis Umbrasas
In reply to Missing strings in the translation file by rytumb
"Save Online" & "Plugins" are indeed not translatable as they belong to plugins and these are currently not covered by the translation server. That is one of the tasks for the spring of 2012, before the release of MuseScore 2.0.
"What's this" has been removed as of MuseScore 1.1 so update your MuseScore version first.
Regarding the Yes & No, this needs to be translated in the file:

Thank You, Thomas, for the explanations.
And how about translation of select color window?
Rytis
In reply to Colors by rytumb
The Select Color dialog translation will be handled by Qt. Lithuanian translation is available and will be added in MuseScore.

Thank You for the answers. I could not found in the translation file these strings:
Elements names in the selection table "Lyrics", "Timesig" etc..
Play panel, Navigator, show, show, Use Current Position
Is there any way to found word in program?
I have doubts about some words (for example Compound) and would like to see how it looks and what means in program.

Play panel, Navigator, show, show, Use Current Position
All these strings are not in MuseScore 1.1 interface. Are you using MuseScore 1.0? You should upgrade. See image attached.
Elements names in the selection table "Lyrics", "Timesig" etc..
These are not translatable indeed. I opened a bug report : #14170: Make element name translatable in Select Dialog

I imported the file. According to the stats:
94 new translations added;
324 new suggestions added; (these are updated strings which are approved)
1732 translations unchanged;
30 duplicate translations not saved;
3 source strings not found, their translations were ignored.
You can download the qm file at http://translate.musescore.org/translate/languages/lt/download
The ts file generated by the translation server has been committed.

Hello, Thomas,
Should I expect Lithuanian translation of Musscore to be added to the 1.2 prerelease version?
Lithuanian translator,
Rytis Umbrasas
In reply to 1.2 prerelease version by rytumb
Lithuanian was already in MuseScore 1.1. The translation will of course be updated in MuseScore 1.2.
