Grace note
I'm trying to get the rest as seen in this screen cap. However, every time I try to make it, it appears in the area the grace notes aren't in (i.e. E area). Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Are you saying it appears below the grace notes? How are doong all this? ould you post your score starting before you start adding the grace notes, then describe exactly what you are doing?
It *should* be as simple as first entering the passage without the grace notes, then adding the grace notes. I am not sure how you could be adding the rest after entering the notes; that doesn't really make sense, since the rest comes first.

Well, I haven't even added the grace notes. I can't without having the rest. Also, since it is copyrighted I'm not sure I could. Though, yes it appears below the grace notes. I'll post at least a snippet of the score. If you look at the other one you will see the problem. I hope I'm making sense.
I followed the directions as posted on the website but I just can't seem to get the rest. It actually appears twice in the same measure. What I'm doing is simply copying it down manually. I've finished one before and am simply stumped by how to do it.
By the way, I did try the grace notes without it but I can't figure out how to add the rest in front of the grace notes.

I think you need to read Voices and Note entry . In particular 0 is used to enter a rest.

I know 0 is for the rest but I can't figure out how to make it like the first post I made. That's what I am having a problem with. My best bet would be to continue experimenting or try a different piece. Well, it may not be available yet or I am unsure of how to do it. Thanks.
Just saw the attachment, I guess I should read those sorry. Sometimes I tend to look for the easiest way out.

Double click the rest and then use the up arrow to move it.

Doing that doesn't actually seem to work. I've tried to figure it out. But still can't seem to get it. Though, I could just copy and paste the graceandvoice file but that doesn't help me figure it out myself. I have read the voice and note sections but that doesn't seem to help me. I've tried changing the voice but I still can't seem to get the rest without, effecting the lower note (i.e. the E).

Again, don't add the rest *after* adding the notes. The rest is on beat one, so it needs to be the very thing you enter in that voice (voice one, since stems are up).

I don't see what this second snipped has to do with the first - looks like an entirely different passage.
Anyhow, once again, you don't add the rest *after* the notes. It's the first thing in the measure, so you enter it first. Enter notes left to right, except for grace notes, which you enter at the end.

Sorry, this is what it's suppose to look like. Not sure why I posted 2 different ones. Though, thanks to you I noticed that I did that section wrong..well made it sharp instead of..a flat, which is why that is highlighted green.
But if it does come up again I'll try it without cheating. Thanks.
