jazz ride cymbal triplet notation with text above
I'm trying to display a typical jazz ride cymbal pattern in triplet notation with triplet counting instructions above each note. When I try to click on the text to raise the height of it above the notation, it instead raises the triplet notation. Also, I am trying to display triplet counting "1 trip let" over just one quarter note. I can not figure out how to place text above and area where there is not note.

Can you attach a picture of what you are trying to achieve? Sometimes it's difficult to click on one object without selecting another - I have found that magnifying the document to 800% or so allows me to select the correct object many times.

To move text around, just click and drag.

I would use staff text instead of lyrics. Select a note and press Ctrl + T. To move test, zoom in with Ctrl + Mouse Scroll.
