How to notate rhythm on a single-line staff using regular noteheads, stems up
(NEVER MIND, I FIGURED THIS OUT!) How can I notate a rhythm on a single-line staff using regular noteheads, stems up? I can figure out how to turn a five-line staff into a single-line staff, but I'm not sure whether I should be changing the instrument to some sort of unpitched percussion. I tried a few possibilities but can't get a regular, stems-up note to show up ON (and not above or below) the line. I'm just a stupid pianist…
Thanks!
Doug

I would like to know how to do this too! Can't even figure out how to change from 5 lines to single line.

In version 2.1, this is not really necessary due to the rhythm input mode ( https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input-modes#rhythm )
If you still want to make a single line staff then right click the staff and select staff properties. Change the number of lines to 1 and click OK.
Hello, darkstream, would You tell me the modality of turning the five-line in one-line? I work with MuseScore 4 as a beginner. Thank You very much.

Whatever the answer might have been back in 2016: Nowadays just use an Instrument Change or use any of the 1-line percussion instruments
