Saving both musescore file and pdf..

• Apr 21, 2013 - 16:10

I complete a score and save it as mscz with a name such as Test.mscz. Then I "save as" pdf. I would like to use the same name so that the file would be Test.pdf but a pop-up box says Test.mscz already exists do I want to replace it. If I answer no I'm back to the same place. I have to change the name so that the pdf extention works. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong. Thanks.

Pictures, documents and programs "must have" a unique name.
Give it a try with a text document, MuseScore "works" in the same way.
Test1/Test2/Test3 is the easiest way, but you can give it a different name.
You have to choose the extension PDF.

When you choose Save As and select a file type, MuseScore shows the filename and the extension MSCZ. When you select a different file type to Save As it should remove the MSCZ and replace it with PDF or whatever but but it fails to do this. The solution is to go to the box with the filename in it and delete the extension and then save it (the .PDF gets added automatically).

The easier way is just to do File...Print and select Print to PDF.

This appears to be fixed in Version 2.0.

When I want to do this I save the file first as the mscz and then save the pdf as a "save copy". this has worked fine for me on XL.

I have tried all the above fixes and still it will not save properly to pdf. When it does save it leaves the mcsz extension as well, so all the MuseScore music I have will then not open in MuseScore. It also won't open as pdf.
I am using MuseScore 2.1 on Windows 10
