Customise the Dynamics palette

• Jul 27, 2017 - 17:15

This issue has been raised in previous posts. It should be possible to customise dynamics (Issue: #15551 - I'm in need of "pf").
However I can't get it to work. I can't find an edit function and the "More Elements" option is greyed out,

Bear in mind that dynamics can only have one value so you cannot make it play forte then piano on the same note. If you want a similar effect, you will need to set the fp velocity to something of your liking for forte (default is 96), then put a piano on the next note and make it invisible by pressing V.

Here's one I made earlier if it's of any use to you. It has a set of "ordinary" dynamics which get placed below the stave, a set that get placed above the stave and a few other marks that I find myself commonly using.

Got it. Thank you!
This is actually a very useful palette. I have long missed the ability to have the dynamics above staff for voices and below staff for instruments. I was not aware it could be customised.
Anyway -- I think it deserves to be included in the standard palette.

Yes, I cobbled it together for piano/vocal pieces. The below-staff ones are set a bit lower than default so that they appear nearer the middle of the piano staff rather than too near the treble notes and the above-staff ones avoid clashing with lyrics and can also be added to the piano bass where there are separate dynamics for bass and treble.
