Please make ties more visible by default.
When I turn in a score to my professor he can never see which notes are tied and which ones arent. I have to either manually edit the ties or draw them in after I print.

Have you tried a nightly build of the eventually-upcoming 2.0 release? I think you'll find this is already addressed to some extent.
BTW, in the current 1.3 version, it's only "some" ties that get rendered very small - cases where the notes involved are spaced closely. In my experience, the best way to deal with these cases is to adjust the spacing, not the tie itself. So I will either add stretch to the measure, add line breaks to get fewer bars on the line, double-click and nudge one or both of the notes, etc.

I have not tried the 2.0 build, I will give it a shot. The nudge function seems to be working the best for the time being.
