Clef change shortcut.

Hi this is amgine here.

I'm not sure if it already exists but it would be nice if you on a standard key note input system ( non midi)
if there was a quick command to switch Clefs (voices) you are on for example since ctrl is taken i was thinking the following
as you have to click to change clefs ( I'm new to musescore I'm sorry if it already exists or has been asked. )

alt + up : move up one clef (voice)

alt + down - move down one clef (voice)

amgine ;)

I assume you mean, you want to change staves, not to change the clef used on the current staff. Thet latter already has a shortcut - Y. I too would like to see a shortcut to change staves, and I actua lly working on implementing it a couple of days ago. I'm still new enough at this that I can't be sure, but I'm pretty sure it won't be difficult, and this seems like as good a way as any to learn more about the internals of MuseScore. So hopefully this will make it into 2.0. Alt up/down is indeed the logical shortcut. This current moves up and down note by note, and can have the effect of changing staves if there happen to be notes there already, but I think I want the same as you: a shortcut that simply goes up or down to the next staff. Or possibly the next voice first, if there are multiple voices per staff. There are advantages to that approach and I'm kind of leaning hat way now. So alt-down would move to the next voice on the current staff if anything is there, or to the next staff.

As mentioned, it would be really nice to be able to take a voice from one clef and insert it onto another clef. However, as I understand the Musescore system, adding a second voice to an existing voice on a particular clef needs to use Voice 2 (the 'green' voice on the toolbar). This means that the entire second voice must be added using Voice 2, note by note. Have I got this wrong?

It isn't clear what you mean, but maybe you should start a new thread and describe it in more detail, with a sample score etc? Your question appears to be about copy and paste, and something about voices - not about clefs.

I have a feeling it is possible to do what you want, but you'll have to explain it better.
