Small Bar chords notation
In classical Guitar music, when I need to make small bar chord like from first to third string,
sometimes notated like this. (see the example)
short vertical line is placed in middle of the letter "C".
Its good for players cause easily recognize if its big bar chord or small one at first glance.
Great if its possible to notate this small bar chord "C" at text line option for feature version!

I can get your image (click on, below) with MuseScore, what's the problem ?! :)
More seriously, according to the publishers, the indication of a Barré is expressed mainly (there may be some variations) in two ways: by a B (from "Barré", french word), and ½ B (for half-barré), or a C (from "Ceja", spanish word), and C with a line through this C for the same "half-ceja", as in your example.
Indeed, it would be a pretty good idea to have the choice. But, for now, a special palette has been created by some French users of a guitar forum who are, in the same time, users of MuseScore.
And there are increasingly! :)
This palette is available and you can load it (assuming that you have created a custom workspace for editing your palettes): Barrés+.mpal
NB: the line style (continuous, dashed etc.) may be editable in Inspector.

Cadiz,
Amazing! I loaded the special palette which you said and it works!
So you created the score above using this special palette right?
I didn't know experimental palettes are being created by users..
where can I find such forums?
Anyway, thanks a lot for telling me this!

Glad to hear this. Of course, it works, it was the purpose!! :)
"So you created the score above using this special palette right?"
Yes, absolutely.

It's from the most well-known guitar forum, ie http://www.guitareclassiquedelcamp.com/index.php (the big "boss" is a French guitar teacher), and its international version: http://www.classicalguitardelcamp.com/index.php
There is in particular another palette available (diagrams for ukulele). Let me know if you are interested.

Thank you for the comment!
Good to know the Big Guitar Forum!
Thank you but I don't play the ukulele unfortunately..
best,
Simple way: use the pipe character '|' as Staff Text, enlarge a bit, and position it over the C in the Text line.
musescore3:
- select text, go into edit mode
- hit [F2] key to get 'Special Characters' pop-up window
- select 'Musical Symbols' tab
- go to 'Italian and Spanish Renaissance lute tablature' line
- on right window, select (double-click) C (barre) or C-with-vertical-line (half-barre), to insert it into text
- close 'Special Characters' pop-up window
- under 'Inspector' window ([F8] or 'View - Inspector'), find 'Text' area, and change size ...
have fun,
simon

For the record, it's a former thread - three years, many changes since. The palette attached (.mpal file) in the first reply had been updated for the version 3.
This one: Barrés_C.mpal

How can I pass it to my musescore? When I download it to open with Musescore, it doesn't work. Please, what do I do?
Je vous souhaite une agréable année 2020 plein de musique
