compression

Hello,
I would like to have the note display compressed as much as possible. In example1 I managed it by some changes in the style settings. But in example 2 the display automatically stretches by a multiple because of two more notes. Is it possible to switch off this automatic or to reduce the distance between the notes manually? I think, also in example 1 the display could be compressed further, right? But how and where do I set this?
