MuseScore 3: Will this version be further maintained?
I intend to furthermore use MuseScore 3. If there are bugs in this version, will they be corrected in the future?
I do not want to use MuseScore 4 right now because Microsoft Defender complains that MuseScore 4 demands a port to be opened. Why is this necessary?

It has been made pretty clear almost 2 years ago by the 'powers to be' (and much to my disagreement) that 3.6.2 will be the last 3.x release.

That port is neccessary to update Muse Sounds and do so in a BitTorrent way. I believe you can disable that BitTorrent part in Muse Hub's settings
