Chords or chord symbols? For the latter to play back you need 3.5 Beta and enable that feature in preferences / notation
The former do play back out of the box and ever since

Thanks for the feedback. They would be the chord symbols. My version is 3.4.2.9788. When I click on start playback, only the notes play, however the chord symbols do not play. Does this 3.5 Beta version cost anything? Or, in this version I have, is there another possibility to play the chord symbols together with the notes? Thank you.

No version of the MuseScorenotation editor costs anything. Prerelease 3.5 versions are available for testing already (see the Download menu above), the "real" 3.5 will be available soon.
