Can't change instrument playback sound after using a "change instrument" text on a part
I'm trying to change from bongos to congas using the "change instrument" text, but I can't change the sound of it with the mixer. (It sounds like a piano right now). What should I do?

What goes wrong when you try? Are you expanding the channel using the arrow icon at the top of the channel strip to show the subchannels? Note you shouldn't need to change the sound, if you already changed the instrument it should come with the correct sound already. Did you perhaps add the instrument change text, but not actually to the "change instrument" command on it? The latter is also necessary to update the drumset definition.
If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Hi,
I changed flute to banjo but the flute sound still persists. Also cannot figure out how to generate a tab - I see only red question marks. Any clue of what I am doing wrong? thank you so much, the program seems to be amazing, but there is still a learning curve ahead of me:)

I don't see where you changed flute to banjo. Assuming you want the whole score changed, right-click somewhere in the staff, Staff/Part Properties, Change Instrument, and select Banjo. If you want tablature, select Banjo (Tablature). Note this part is really too high for nbanjo, you should probably transpose it down an octave first.
