MuseScore 3.4.2 and 3.5 alpha on the same computer Windows 10
I had 3.4.2 installed first. Later I installed 3.5 alpha. 3.4.2 installed a folder in Program Files, and another folder in Documents (labeled MuseScore 3). Just like it should. 3.5 alpha installed it's own folder in Program Files (labeled alpha), but no folder in Documents.
As a result, 3.5 alpha uses the 3.4.2 folder in Documents. The combination sound font I use in 3.4.2 shows up by default in 3.5 alpha. So the two versions combine each other's fonts and scores.
My question is this. Was 3.5 alpha supposed to install it's own folder in Documents? Can I create a it's own folder and have 3.5 always point to it?

Both share the settings, so no, you can't set up one different from the other.
Also better use the Beta rather than the Alpha

Excellent. Thank you.

Turns out that the beta is also dependant on the 3.4.2 Documents folder. I was interested in two completely separated installations so that I could experiment with different fonts without having to load and unload. It can take several minutes in the case of sfz fonts.

As said, they do share their settings.
