Cannot enter titles in my music score

• Jul 18, 2020 - 21:07

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I did a search and didn't find anything. As we all know, when you open a new blank score, Musescore asks you to fill out the title text of the score. You can cancel out of that if you like. Well, I cancelled out of it and completed my score. Now I want to put a title, but when I do Add -> Text -> Title it puts a title box at the top of my score but when I click on it to go into it to enter my text, it disappears. Before I report as a bug, I want to know if this is correct behavior or if this is a bug. If it is correct behavior, how do you add a title and why doesn't it want you to add a title by doing Add -> Text -> Title?
Thank you.

Can't reproduce here: creating a new score, don't filling out the score information, adding later the title as you described in the score - it appears as expected. Or do I miss a step?

Well, you used the command Add / Text / Title, not Add / Frames / Insert Vertical Frame. The latter command would indeed have just given you the frame. But you specifically said you were adding text, so you are immediately placed in edit mode to begin typing it. Same as how Ctrl+L lets you immediately type a lyric without needing to first click something, etc.
