Volume control not working
Recently, possibly since I installed the most recent Windows update, the volume control on my PC doesn't work with MuseScore (3.4.2 and 3.5RC), or rather it works as an on/off switch instead of as a volume control. It works as expected with other programmes such as VLC and with audio from websites played via Edge. With MuseScore any setting greater than zero results in the same volume - TOO LOUD!
- I have restarted audio and midi devices from MuseScore.
- I have restarted audiosrv service from Task Manager.
- I have rebooted my PC.
- I have checked for driver updates and found none.
- I have fiddled with the Port Adio/API setting. It seems only possible to set this to Windows WDM-KS as any other setting gets reset to this after exiting the preferences dialogue.
Any fixes or suggestions would be welcome before I start trying to roll back the Windows updates.
Current system info is:
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.0.12799, revision: fb3c202

Fixed!
For the benefit of anyone else who has the same problem: I ran
sfc /scannow
from the CMD prompt (as Admin). It found and fixed errors and now all is well with my volume control again. In reply to FIXED! I ran [/code]sfc … by SteveBlower
Thanks for reminding us about scannow.
