No. Press Shift to select notes.
While it's possible to select group of notes with the mouse by pressing Shift while dragging, it's usually easier / faster / more precise to use the standard keyboard shortcuts: eg, click one note, Shift+click another to select the range, or click one note, Shift+left/right to extend the range select by one note at a time, etc.

Yes sure, but with dragging by the mouse you can select different notes of some chords in the piano roll for ex. It would be easier if that would be possible for the score too
