Lyric Placement
I've been working on a lot of vocal scores in a (Neo-)Renaissance style, notated in " White-notes"--a lot of breves and semibreves. When I enter lyrics, I notice that the first syllables of multi-syllable words are sometimes left-justified, some times centered. Also, I've noticed that sometimes the left-justified syllables are offset. I've been trying to figure out a pattern, but it seems to be pretty random.
Notice "Com-" and "Do-" in the screenshot.
It's a short enough piece, I'm going to delete and reenter all the lyrics, and see what happens

Melismatic lyrics, using either dash or underscore are indeed left justified

But not initial syllables hyphenated, but only under one note?--this must be a finer a point of engraving of which I am unaware. Still, notice "Do-" in v. 3 above, and "San-" in v. 2 below (the re-entered version.)

Consider sharing the actual score file. We can't interact with an image to see element settings..
