Audio feedback during rhythm input

• Nov 25, 2020 - 19:40

Hi all!
I find rhythm input -> repitch notes an amazingly fast and easy method for transcribing already existent sheets. But IMHO there is a little drawback: a little error can easily go unnoticed (the eyes are on the music) and require the rewriting of a chunk of music. Denemo solves this problem playing a percussion sound in the first beat of each bar. The -very- few times I used Denemo I always found that little aural feedback very useful.

Can you explain more what type of additional feedback you are looking? Something above and beyond simply playing the notes as you enter them?

EDIT: hmm, maybe you are referring to wanting to know when you've crossed the barline, and as far as I can tell, that really has nothing to do with what mode you are in since the same thing could potentially be useful in the other note input modes as well?

I think this could be useful. I find myself paying more attention to the process of entering notes and discover that I've pressed 4 for a quarter note...again! and don't realize it until if once again look at what I've entered. The audio feedback would be nice once I'm used to it.

Yes, a little "dling" sound that plays at the beginning of every bar.
For me it's useful primarily in Rhythm mode because it's an input method almost entirely devoted to copying music from an existing source (manuscript, PDF...) and so the eyes are off screen most of the time. For the classic step input it seems me a little overkill.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see why copying manuscript would be particularly associated with copying manuscript. People use rhythm mode for many different purposes, and people copying manuscript use many different methods.

Anyhow, bottom line for me is, I think it's a good idea, but it should work in all modes, there is really nothing special about rhythm mode here.
