Continue a measure after system break

I have a Beethoven score and it appears that there is a measure that the engraver has continued across a system break. Top line has no end bar and the next line has the beginning bar line with the clef symbols and the rest of the notes for that measure follow. This is in 6/8 time and there are 24 32nd notes in total. I searched online and discovered Finale has a feature called a horizontal split point which allows measures to be split visually but still counted as part of a single measure. Obviously I do not have to force the line break where the score shows as this is clearly for the benefit of the printing and can put all the notes in a single measure and then do the system break if appropriate. Just wondering if there is such a feature in the works.

Use the menu Tools->Measure->Split measure before selected note or rest to split the measure. You can then select something in the first part of the measure and press enter to force a system break there. You may then want to right click that measure, choose Measure properties and check the "Exclude from measure count" option.

It is only an issue if the notes are spaced out that there needs to be a "soft" break at that point. Since there are many notes on either side of the half measure point, moving around creates cramped notes or too much space. It looks like it is only a convenience for printing a good looking score given the limitations of what can be place on a single line. Was just wondering if there was any work to create such a break (as in Finale.) Not really concerned about measure count since it is not noted on the score I am copying. BTW.. I has an interesting measure count issue recently... the publisher printed measure count every 5 measures (number in circle at end barline..) and in his counting system, multi-measure voltas were counted as 1 measure for the count.

There was recently a discussion among programmers of adding a mid measure break in some form to the tools available in MuseScore but I've seen nothing indicating work has been done on it. I don't know how it compares to Finale I've never used it.
