Cannot open Muscore3 as I "don not have permission" on Mac w Big Sur OS even though I am an admin.
Hello, I am a pro member and recently I downloaded MuseScore3. However when I try to open it I get a pop up that says "You do not have permission to open the application". I am the administrator of the computer and I download things all the time so I don't know why the pop is appearing. I am using a Mac with BigSur. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Pro membership has no bearing here. Not in this site, musesore.org, nor in connection with the MuseScxore software.
And it is completly unrelated to the error you are getting.
I have no idea what that is nor how to fix that though

Hello Jojo,
Thanks for your quick reply. They emphasis was more on the non functional software and than the membership level.

I just wanted to set your expectations right: Pro users are just mere mortal here ;-)
Is it that you can't open/run the downloaded installer; or you have MuseScore installed but can't launch it?

I can download and install the program but when I click on it to run, I get a popup that says that I don't have permission to run it. Thanks

Maybe you needed to give it execute permissions?
Hmm, isn't it a dmg file rather than an executable?
