Project
1) Unplug headphones.
2) Open Musescore.
3) Once a sheet is opened, plug headphones into the PC.
4) Press the play button.
If I first open Musescore and then connect my headphones, either the play button doesn't work (when pressed, the reproductor gets stucked and no sound is played), or the sound doesn't come from the headphones but the speakers.
If I first connect my headphones and then open Musescore, now everything works as expected.

This is a known limitation of how some operating systems transmit information. On those systems after a change in audio devices, you will need to select the new device in Edit / Preferences / I/O, or often it works to just toggle the MIDI button on the main toolabr off and back on to restart the audio system.
See for instance #277835: Allow Bluetooth-, other Sound- and MIDI-devices to be turned on after MuseScore loads.

no, that doesn't work. Nothing works. Musescore needs to fix this stupid bloody business!
