Search feature for the Sound drop-down in the Mixer panel.

It currently just lists all the sounds in a single list, and it does not seem alphabetically sorted. It seems that they are grouped/ordered by the instrument types and the sound font file, but it does not show which sound font file they belong to. It seems to be that it is very difficult to find the things I want.

How about,

  1. Add a filter box: type a few letters and show the instruments that contain those letters.
  2. Display the sound font file that the instruments belong to. It can be displayed at the top of the grouping, or on the right side of each instrument.

That would be only useful when you have only one exact instrument in your mind, and you know the name, and there are no duplicates. Maybe professionals are like that, but for novice, I think filtering would be more useful. For example, typing the first letters cannot filter the list into types of pianos, because the names are like "dark chateau grand", "grand piano", "FM electric piano", etc, and they are not even concentrated.
