Glissando notation

When I use chords to write for a set of, say, four trumpets (each trumpet playing one note of the chord), when I add a glissando from one chord to the next, the only way of getting the glissando markings to stay parallel (each glissando marking going to the corresponding note of the next chord) is to put each note in a different voice (which would limit the chord size to four notes, since there are four voices to use). If I keep all chord notes to one voice (say, voice 1), all the glissando markings go to the top note of the next chord, although they correctly start out from different notes in the preceding chord. Am I doing something the wrong way here?
The sound plays differently in each case, as can be seen from the attached example.

OK, I just found another way of doing it, but it is cumbersome and takes time. After adding the glissando for each note of the chord, I drag the glissando end point to the next note down the chord, so it ends at the right note. Doing this for each note gets the chord glissando right, and it plays right too. But I don't think this should be the right way for doing it. Add to it, the fact that we must work with a very high level of zoom to select the right glissando. Too much work for a simple thing. But if that's what it takes, so be it...

Thank you for the reply. It works fine and is less cumbersome. I still think, though, that there is room for an improvement, by adding a feature that would allow us to say "add a glissando from this chord to that chord", as long as both chords have the same number of notes. But, then, this might be a request for a future version...
