Glissando

I cannot add a glissando to my score. I get the red circle with a line

Adding glissandos is no problem with that score, just select the starting note and (double)click the glissando from the palette. Using drad and droip is indeed dofficult with Windows 10, you'd need to find the 'hotspot' of that 'cursor' (it is basically slightly above and left of that red circle).

My guess is you are using drag and drop but not actually dropping onto anything in particular - you have to drag to a specific note.

Drag & drop is never the efficient way to use the palette in MuseScore, though. Much easier to just select the note or notes you want to apply a symbol to, then click the element in the palette.
