Is there a way to add a "Blank" underneath notes?

Hello!

I have a score in which I would like to keep the text, and add another line of "lyrics" that is just underscores/blanks, or similar. This is so my students can write in solfege, and/or lyrical pronunciation for songs in other languages and dialects.

At the moment, dashes and underscores automatically go to the next note. Is there some sort of workaround for this?
