Ties collide with notehead depending on stem direction:
1) 4/4 Measure with last quarter segment having two voices: make a qrter note tie into a whole note into the next measure
Here's a capture with whole notes being a little transparent to accentuate the clash:
Seems to be font agnostic. I'm presuming this isn't intended behavior, but maybe there is some reasoning behind this that isn't obvious?

As far as I can see it is not dependant on stem direction, collision happens in ehther case
Try testing on MU4 builds, the tie attachment code has been completely rewritten and still being tweaked.

Haven't tested MU4 for this yet, but this seems to be only a problem for tying into whole notes (and yeah apparently stem directions for the most part don't matter).

Seems likely related to an issue currently being discussion for MU4 where ties connecting to grace notes overshoot the mark - the code isn't taking the actual width of the note into account. Sounds like they are on it.
