My "back arrow" doesn't work
My "back arrow" doesn't work and the score doesn't automatically progress with the music.
I got my new Mac last week, and I haven't had this problem in seven years.

You mean the "Undo" function? Or the "Back to start of score" one?
Are you perhaps talking about website, like musescore.com, as opposed the MuseScore notation software? If so, best to ask over there on that website, but also explain in more detail what you mean.
The only back arrow I can think of relevant to MuseScore is the backspace key, used to delete thing, it doesn't have anything to do with playback. As for the score following the playback, that is controlled by a button on the toolbar, "Pan score automatically", so make sure that's turned on.

This is in my software, not online. It's the arrow one hits to go back to the beginning of the score.

Ah, not something on your keybaord, but the rewind button on the toolbar. This is not intended to reposition your view of the score immediately, only the playback cursor. The command to reposition the score view to the beginning is the Home key (on your keyboard). Of course,e after a rewind operation, as soon as you hit play, the view will also be positioning to the beginning, if you have the "Pan score automatically" option enabled. In your picture it looks like youv'e disabled it (the icon next tot he metronome). So turn that back on and you should see the score view follow the playbacl.

Mark, i just got a new Macbook Air (M1 chip) two weeks ago. My MuseScore crashes several times a day.

If you have enabled the “hover text” accessibility option, disable it - that is know to cause problems. Otherwise, start a new thread and provide as much info as you can, ideally including a sample score and steps to reproduce the problem.

I haven't intentionally enabled hover text. Where can I find it to potentially disable it?
I went into MS preferences but couldn't find it.

It's a macOS option, not a MuseScore option. I don't have a mac so I can't say, but I' assume a web search for "macos hover text" or some such will turn up an answer.

Marc,
My MuseScore has lost volume on playback。
For a few days this happened and I quit MuseScore,
opened it up, and it played.
Today when I quit and open it back up it's silent.
What should i do?

PS. And now, minutes later, it is randomly working again. Weird.

Seems likely some other program on your system was requesting and receiving exclusive access to your audio device.
I have had a similar issue but it seems to work now.
