Is there a way to just have guitar chord names and lyrics without the staves or notes?
I have tried making the staves and notes invisible, but there is still the space where the staves were. I would like the chord names to be right above the lyrics.

Well..
You can use a single-line staff, make notes stemless and fix to line, which'll allow you to move chord symbols rather close vertically. Moving lyrics up is possible as well.
If all text and no music notation, why use MuseScore?
Simply type the text (chord names above lyrics) into a text app.
Seems very "old school" though.

Yes. How did you do that? I have piano music with chords listed and don't want to have to re-enter everything for guitar.

There is, also, a How To For this.

I rightclicked the staff and made some stuff invisible in properties.
Then i made the noteheads and stems invisible via inspekteur. (and rightclick / select / all similiar)
Then i selected all chords (rightclick / select / all similiar) and made an y-offset via inspekteur.
