Different dynamics in RH and LH piano

• Mar 18, 2022 - 09:11

It's common to play with different dynamics for the right hand and the left and on the piano. How is it possible to render this with MuseScore playback while having a standard piano score displayed? I use two single staff scores, but how to make them look like a piano score (with a bracket and a single instrument name)? Or is there a better way to use two midi tracks/channels (with two different mixer level) for playback)?

Thanks! I did that, and I didn't have to make the bar lines longer. They were automatically extended. The only thing I couldn't do is to have the instrument name displayed as it would be for a piano staff. This is easy to fix for the first line, but it won't automatically repeat on the next ones like for other instruments. Also, the bracket is different from the standard one, and I couldn't find any place where this would be configurable.

Thanks. Setting the column to 0 in the inspector fixed the position. I have not yet figured out how you fixed the aspect of the bracket, but I will investigate that. However, if I delete the bracket and insert a new one, it comes back with the wrong aspect and with column = 1! (In my original file, not the one you fixed).

Try moving the Long Instrument Name and the Short Instrument Name down several times with the Enter key.

"Also, the bracket is different from the standard one"
In the attached sample score, I used two separate Piano instruments, then removed bass staff from the upper piano and removed treble staff from the lower piano. Then there is no need to add any bracket manually.
