Can't see software to write score
Hello, Years ago I was a member of MuseScore.org and then many years passed that I did not use it. Fast forward, the software has totally changed and now I'm trying to get back to where I left off. For the life of me I cannot find where I would start writing a score. I have been back and forth with the Help Desk to no avail. I'm left to ask you folks? Should I uninstall and reinstall with the hopes that finally the page would come up? Attached is what I see when I first log on. Thank you for any ideas how to get around this problem.

Hello, YouTube with Musescore, , many tutorials ......and the handBook https://musescore.org/en/handbook and , this Forum of course !!
Did you download and install the software? If so, what happens when you try to run it? What help desk are you referring to? I thought that these forums were the help desk.
If you can run the software then simply follow the link above to the official MuseScore 3 handbook and you could be writing a score in a matter of minutes.
There is also a course available called Mastering Musescore which you could check out:

Yes, for sure I've downloaded this, multiple times. And hit 'repair' too.. That expression “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" might apply here. ;-@ Or just being desperate. I will explore the link you shared. And FYI that screenshot that I shared was taken after I had downloaded the software. It doesn't make sense.

Well sure, if you visits the website again after downloading the software, you’ll see the website again. That’s totally normal. The question, have you tried actually running the software? So for instance, on Windows, you should see a desktop icon for MuseScore. What happens when you run that? Or, if you run it from the Start menu?
It’s possible you downloaded the installer to your desktop instead of the normal download folder. If so, you might be accidentally trying to run the installer again instead of actually running MuseScore. Assuming you’ve already installed it, be sure the icon you click on the desktop is MuseScore itself, not the installer. If in doubt, use the Start menu instead.
None of this, BTW, is specific to MuseScore, it’s how installing software in Windows always works. So if you continue to have trouble, then any friend or family member who is more computer-savvy can probably look over your shoulder and lend a hand.

You've hit the nail on the head, and actually a friend of mine this morning told me the same thing. You're right about needing to be a bit more computer savvy to understand these things. So I've gone to the Start area and typed in MuseScore and up came the downloaded score page to start writing one! YAY! Thank you so much! ;-)

Are you sure? That post appears to be from a different user.

Yes, I am sure, that reply is from the same user. Thread got started by another user though
Do you see the big" Free Download" button on that page? Did you use it? Did you install the software? And then run it it?

Yes, downloaded that.

Then install it. Then run it.
The short answer to your question of how to start writing a score:
Step 1: Click that big blue "Free download" button shown in your image
Step 2: Follow the prompts from there to install the software, same as you'd install any other software
Step 3: Run the software you just installed
To be clear: the picture you show is a website, it isn't MuseScore. The website is the place to download MuseScore from, so you definitely reached the right starting place.
None of this has changed since you used MsueScore last. MuseScore has always been something you download, it's never been something you run from a web browser. So if you used it before, you must have downloaded it then, too. If it's the same computer, it's probably even still there, although probably very out of date. Best to just download the latest version anyhow.
