Copying piano music onto Musescore
I am trying to write a held note (dotted quarter note) in the bass clef that is underpinned with a triplet that starts on the same note. It only happens once in a 12/8 measure. How do I write that into a piano score without using 2 voices? Thanks

You cannot do that without two voices. If you don't want the extra rests visible, just select them and press "V" to make them invisible.

Correct; also adding that rests in voices 2–4 can be deleted entirely with the delete key

Better to just hide them; they can be annoying to get back once they're gone.
