Tab notation String issues
So I'm trying to write out a part in guitar tab, and any time I add a note higher than 5th fret (4th for 2nd string) the note jumps to the enharmonic fret 0-5 on the higher adjacent string. This consistently happens regardless of whether I am entering the note directly onto the tab or attempting to change the note to the desired fret. The program seems to believe the only place to play A4 is the open 5th string.

Are you using the latest version of Musescore (3.6.2) and is this the first time that you have tried writing in Tab? I have never had that problem myself, and it shouldn't happen if you are following the Handbook instructions: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature#enter-notes. Also see there how to edit notes: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tablature#edit-notes.
Sometimes closing Musescore then starting it again can solve odd problems, but otherwise post your score here so that experts (not I!) can look to see what is going wrong.

You continue to have trouble after reading the info above and in the articles they are linking to, please attach your score. But I suspect it is that you have entered incorrect information into the "open string" field of your tab definition.
