Triplets not fitting in a score
Hello MuseScore,
The timing is split common which is 4 beats to the bar. But MuseScore will not let me do this with these and similar bars with triples in them? Bar 8 starts with 3 min-ims then 2 crotchets
And then the Triple which equals one note more than the bar will hold? I can not get the triple to fit. It puts the extra note/s into the next bar? I have tried all I know and got nowhere. Any advice will be gratefully received.
Many Thanks Regards Barry Austin Triplets file.pdf

Look in the Handbook for “tuplets”.

To enter a triplet start by selecting a note or rest that has a duration that equals the total duration of the triplet you want to enter. E.g. to enter a triplet of quarter notes, select a half note or half note rest and press CTRL+3. Further examples are given in the handbook here https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tuplets

Thank you Brer Fox that suggestion is used by me many times BUT it is the then printed copy created FROM the MuseScore score creator that 90% of the triplets bar that groups them together is printed with them littered all over the page. I then painstakingly physically move the bars to their correct position and angle, OVER the three notes of the tuplet. The hand book has no suggestions for this anomaly.
I guess I will have to put up with it, thank you again for your help. The original page download includes a copy of the problem
Many thanks

It's not clear to me what you are doing. Are you trying to import a PDF file into Musescore with a converter? That rarely works and it's usually quicker to key in the music from scratch.
If you are entering it so that it comes out correctly in Musescore, but it then goes wrong when you export it to PDF, there must be some corruption in your score. Which version of MS are you using? If you post both the mscz file and the PDF then we will be better able to work out what is going on.
Three triplet quarter notes take up the space of a half note. So when your blue cursor during note input is on the half rest, press Ctrl-3 and you will get three quarter rests. There you can write your triplet notes. See this passage in the attachment.
