Adding special characters to a palette in MS4
In MuseScore 3, you can add special characters like elisions, em dashes, curly quotes, etc. to a customized palette. I find this very convenient, and it doesn't seem like you can do that in MuseScore 4. Is this a feature that could be added/will be added?

Works the same in Mu4 as it did in Mu3:
First add them to your score, then Shift+Ctrl+Drag them to a palette

Oh, I didn't even know that was a thing, in Mu3 you could drag them directly from the symbols menu.
The drag and drop you described doesn't seem to work for symbols entered into lyrics in MS4 for me, can you clarify?

OK, so you mean the F2 palette which is now at Shift+F2?

Yeah, in Mu3 I could drag symbols from that to a customized palette I had in the sidebar with the default barlines/repeats and jumps/etc. palettes so the characters I used the most were very easily accessible. Somehow in Mu4 I got the elision symbol over there but I don't know how! Sorry this turned more into a tutorial, but I really appreciate the help!

That still works in Mu4 too, I've just tried it

That's so weird, it works for me now, I swear it wasn't working when I posted that question! Thank you for helping.

FYI: If Shift + F2 does not open the Special Characters Palette, make sure you have a CURSOR (|) showing within text (Lyrics, title, whatever kind). Even if you have text highlighted/selected, if you don’t have a cursor to insert text the palette won’t open.
I noticed this when I tried building a custom palette for Polish special letters (ą, ć, ę, ł, ó, ś, ż) BEFORE I had any text. It was frustrating!

@Jojo: Off topic: Jojo, could you have a look at
https://musescore.org/en/node/343781
This person writes:
“I can't update to 4.0.1, can't uninstall 4.0.0, it always asks me to provide the installation source of 4.0.0 (I removed it right after installing)”
And I gave them bad advice, I think.
I hope you don’t find this request annoying…
