Recovering autosave/backup files in MS4
Hello,
I need help recovering an autosave file- I was writing a piece in a new score template and didn't manually save the file (i.e., there is no earlier version saved) and my computer apparently shut down overnight? Anyways, I was working on it all day so it must have autosaved, but I can't find any backup folder.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm using a Mac (Ventura 13.3.1).
In MS3 I was able to recover autosaves via "Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore3/", where there is a folder titled ".mscbackup/". However, in "Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore4", (the equivalent folder for MS4) there is no such backup folder.
I have no idea what to do and I would really like to have my composition back.
I am relatively incompetent when it comes to computers/software/technology so any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

I believe the backup folder is a hidden folder. You can use your web browser to look up how to view hidden folders on a Mac.

I did figure out how to do that and I was able to see all my hidden folders (including the backup folder for MS3) but there is still no sign of a backup folder for MS4.

My setup for MS4:
OS: Windows 10 Version 2009 or later, Arch.: x86_64,
MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.1.0-231881726, revision: 5f333a2
In File Explorer, I had to select the View tab and enable the checkbox for "Hidden items". Then the MS4 folder looks like this ("Forum Scores" is a folder created by me):
