sound not working
Hello,
I have been using Musescore for a long time but without any apparent cause, sound has stopped working. I am using version 3.6.2 on Windows 10. The I/O settings are all greyed out and the program does not play back any sound.
I have spent a couple of hours already, trying things I read in these forums, to no avail.
I tried Musescore 4 but the sound was terrible - sample rate issues apparently, that I was not able to solve. I want to recover my old 3.6 perfectly working tool.
Can anyone help me, please?

Thanks Daniel. Yes, I had seen that one and tried a couple of things from the list; the first ones about the "synthesizer" I could not because the option is not available for me, I don't know why. But restarting audio devices (option 6) did not work. I also reset all preferences to default and even reinstall the program. It did not work.
Did you hit the "Restart audio and midi devices" button on that page? There is also an audio button in the center of the menu bar to toggle. Looks like a midi plug.

Thanks, yes I did, multiple times, also after reinstalling the program. It did not work... until now. For whatever reason, this time it has worked. I wish I knew why. What I noticed is it took like 10 seconds between hitting the play buttons and the score actually playing. Perhaps I missed that the previous times because I did not wait.
