Reducing Blank Space

I recently got transferred a file to a new device and after opening the file all the spacing has gone haywire. The style and spacing have not changed at on the file. I did create the file with a slightly older version but I'm now viewing it on the most recent version.
The first file is the transferred file with the weird spacing. (Lots of space between the barline and the note at the end of each measure)
The second file is a pdf version I was able to save with the spacing I want (If possible)
